Womenomics Today

BNY Mellon has a long-term commitment improving the profile of women and helping them to progress in the corporate world.

BNY Mellon approached Zone to develop a strategy to help them to position as an authority and thought leaders in the field of Womenomics. The essential piece of the strategy was Womenomics Today, an online HUB that could aggregate a great variety of content around this topic.

The biggest challenge was the reduced budget and time constraints. With 4-day deadline (plus additional work done during evenings), I had to have both the IA and Visual Design approved to kick start development.

To save time I mainly used hand drawn sketches to explore the brief and to come up quickly with some interesting solutions. This way I could more efficiently communicate with the rest of the team and agree on the most suitable solution both with client services and production.

HOMEPAGE

Although this was a project that we needed to put up and running very quickly, we tried to make an effort to show to this new client what Zone could do after this release to continue improving and expanding the platform. So we presented 3 versions to client.

Sprint 1 – Possible solution for site launch Annotations Sprint 2 – When there is a great amount of content we can feature some content in a side bar, where users can easily scan and take part on the most popular conversations on the site. This posts could be selected for example with the criteria: numbers of shares, number of comments. Sprint 3 – When there is a great amount of popular content we could potentially feature some content in the top header section. Users could easily scan the conversations and take part on the most popular items on the site.

BNY Mellon is a very corporate brand and doesn’t have many assets. It was great to explore the visual language that worked best. Soon I decided I wanted the visual design for this page to feel corporate but very modern at the same time. This resulted in a nice typographic, patterned and iconographic combination.

Thank you!
